During an interview with Inspiration FM's Gloria Maduka post surgery, veteran music producer OJB Jezreel addressed controversy surrounding his donations, said celebs used it as competition and calls out Dbanj.

Here's why he's unhappy with D'banj. During his fund raiser many months back, there were rumours that D'banj gave his former music producer N7m, a report that D'banj didn't deny. OJB says D'banj didn't give him a dime and was upset that he didn't try to set the record straight.

    "The most disappointing one for me is D'banj because he passed through my hands, he was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don't care if you're with Kanye West, you can't forget your root. I won't call anybody else's name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. And he never tried to reach out to me. It's not like we parted on fighting terms.  He told me he had to go to London and he went. And when he came back it was Don Jazzy, and I said OK, that's fine. And what he did worked and I'm very proud of him, the love I had for him, that's why it hurts more. He should have come out to say no, I don't know why you people are saying all this, I didn't give OJB N7million, maybe a part of him felt embarrassed because at the end of the day, really, are you not supposed to do something?" OJB says during the interview

He also talked about how people used his fund raiser as competition and once again addresses the bounced cheques.

    "When P-Square gave me N5million cheque, everybody started treating it as a competition. They were like, they brought N5m, I want to show that I can do more, or equal it. So they will come to my house, some will drop N2m, N1m, you say thank you, they take pictures and go away. Then you drop the cheque in your account and you see that almost N4/5million is being returned back to you that it didn't clear. You call them and tell them and they tell you they are coming but they haven't picked the cheques till now.

    "The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It's the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then they will say I'm donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy's tape stops, and he says let's take that again (Laughs).

    "There were people in my dialysis that I gave N100k each to pay for their dialysis, we didn't publicize it, we didn't take photos with them, because I felt that was unnecessary."

(Reuters) - A hacker secretly took over a computer server at the BBC, Britain's public broadcaster, and then launched a Christmas Day campaign to convince other cyber criminals to pay him for access to the system.

While it is not known if the hacker found any buyers, the BBC's security team responded to the issue on Saturday and believes it has secured the site, according to a person familiar with the cleanup effort.

A BBC spokesman declined to discuss the incident. "We do not comment on security issues," he said.

Reuters could not determine whether the hackers stole data or caused any damage in the attack, which compromised a server that manages an obscure password-protected website.

It was not clear how the BBC, the world's oldest and largest broadcaster, uses that site, ftp.bbc.co.uk, though ftp systems are typically used to manage the transfer of large data files over the Internet.

The attack was first identified by Hold Security LLC, a cybersecurity firm in Milwaukee that monitors underground cyber-crime forums in search of stolen information.

The firm's researchers observed a notorious Russian hacker known by the monikers "HASH" and "Rev0lver," attempting to sell access to the BBC server on December 25, the company's founder and chief information security officer, Alex Holden, told Reuters.

"HASH" sought to convince high-profile hackers that he had infiltrated the site by showing them files that could only be accessed by somebody who really controlled it, Holden said.

So far Hold Security researchers have found no evidence the conversations led to a deal or that data was stolen from the BBC, Holden said.

It is common for hackers to buy and sell access to compromised servers on underground forums.

Buyers view the access as a commodity that grants them the chance to further penetrate the victim organization. They can also use compromised servers to set up command-and-control centers for cyber-crime operations known as botnets, run spam campaigns or launch denial of service attacks to knock websites off line.

The BBC offer stands out because the media company is such a high-profile organization, Holden said. "It's definitely a notch in someone's belt."

BBC has some 23,000 staff and is funded largely by license fees paid by every British household with a television.

Justin Clarke, a principal consultant for the cybersecurity firm Cylance Inc, said that while "HASH" was only offering access to an obscure ftp server, some buyers might see it as a stepping stone to more prized assets within the BBC.

"Accessing that server establishes a foothold within BBC's network which may allow an attacker to pivot and gain further access to internal BBC resources," he said.

Media companies, including the BBC, have repeatedly been targeted by the Syrian Electronic Army, which supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and other hacker activist groups that deface websites and take over Twitter accounts.

Last January the New York Times reported that it had been repeatedly attacked over four months by Chinese hackers who obtained employees' passwords.

Iyetade Soyinka, the second daughter of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has died aged 48. Ms Soyinka, formerly Iyetade Apampa, died at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

Adams oshiomole escapes death from car crash

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, today escaped death in a ghastly car crash, involving his convoy around Ewu village, Auchi-Benin road.

According to reports, the mishap took place around 9.45am, as he made his way to Benin City from his Iyambo village.

The accident occurred when a Peugeot J5 Bus with registration number XB 355 Fugar, which was caarrying tomatoes and plantain lost control and crashed into the governor’s flag car, a BMW bullet proof car, before landing in a ditch.

Governor Oshiomhole’s convoy, had previously been involved in a car last year, after a tipper rammed into his vehicle.

Terry G Attacked and sent off during performance

Oche Gabriel Amanyi, otherwise known as Terry G got more than he bargained for in his hometown during the weekend.

The singer, who was at the IBB Square, Makurdi in Benue State for Benue youth fiesta was attacked while performing on stage.

South African Doctor guilty of creating drug to kill Africans

A South African doctor that rose to infamy during the period of apartheid for his production of chemical weapons and drugs was found guilty this week of unprofessional conduct. 

Wouter Basson, who headed a controversial chemical and biological weapons program in the 1980s and 1990s, saw an end to a six-year inquiry by The Health Professions Council of South Africa after the group made their verdict.

Basson, a cardiologist by trade, was made the head of Project Coast in 1983. Under the orders of then-President PW Botha, Basson secretly created large batches of toxins and bio-toxins under the guise of research laboratories. The chemicals were made as a last resort against enemy forces, and Basson created various covert ways to administer the weapons.

Basson also created drugs such as Mandrax and cocaine, which amazingly the South African government wanted to use to quell dissent among soldiers. Weaponized tear gas was also produced and sold to Angola’s National Union for the Total Independence of Angola leader Jonas Savimbi. Basson also created drugs that made kidnappings possible and capsules of cyanide for field agents to commit suicide if captured.

Project Coast also reportedly created a hidden contraceptive the government wanted to distribute among the Black population of the country, especially the men. The contraceptive agent would have been delivered through the country’s water lines.

Although Dr. Basson was not present at the trial, the families of some of the victims of Project Coast’s drugs and chemicals were present. Basson claimed in court documents that he was only acting as a soldier, carrying out military orders and did not know where the chemicals were heading. The HPCSA contended that Basson remained a member of the Council, which binds him to the rules of ethics and the like.

He will be sentenced in February of next year.

Nigeria Senate bans same sex marriage

The Nigerian Senate have officially banned same sex marriage in Nigeria. Man + Man = Not allowed. Woman + Woman = Go to prison. :-). Only a union between a man and a woman in a recognized worship center is allowed.

The new bill states;
1. A marriage contract or civil union entered into between persons of same sex by virtue a certificate issued by a foreign country shall be void in Nigeria.
2. Marriage or civil union entered into between persons of same sex shall not be solemnized in any place of worship either Church or Mosque or any other place whatsoever called in Nigeria.
3. Only marriage contracted between a man and a woman either under Islamic Law, Customary Law or the Marriage Act is recognized as valid in Nigeria.
4. Persons that entered into a same sex marriage or civil union contract commit an offense and are jointly liable on conviction to a term of 14 years imprisonment each.
5. Any persons or group of persons that administers, witnesses, screens, abet and aids the solemnization of a same sex marriage contract or civil union or supports the registration, operation of gay clubs, societies and organizations, processions or meetings in Nigeria commits an offense and liable on conviction to a term of 10 years imprisonment.

Iran returns second space monkey to earth, stages crisis in nuclear talks

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani announced Saturday, Dec. 14, that a monkey had been successfully launched into space and brought back to earth safely aboard a home-made bio-capsule. The mission, dubbed Fargam (Auspicious), was the first to run on liquid fuel, he said, without providing any further technical information.
In January, when Iran sent its first monkey into space, American and Israeli strategists were caught by surprise by the technological capability displayed and alarmed by its military connotations.
Tehran’s space program, say DEBKAfile’s military sources, demonstrates its missiles’ capability to reach any point on earth.
This is all the more disturbing in the context of the commitment Iran undertook under the interim nuclear accord it signed with the six powers on Nov. 24, to refrain from developing nuclear-capable missiles with ranges beyond 2,000 km. The space launch Saturday virtually nullified that commitment. It was evidently part of a carefully staged action to put the entire Geneva accord on the skids at the first opportunity. The Iranians followed through on it after the White House acted Thursday, Dec. 12, to tighten sanctions by adding new Iranian companies and individuals engaged in the oil industry to the list of targets.
Tehran had repeatedly threatened to break off nuclear negotiations if more sanctions were imposed.
And indeed, Friday, the Iranian delegation abruptly terminated the talks taking place with the six powers in Vienna, announcing they must return home for consultations.
The delegation left unfinished work on the practical applications of the Geneva accord and left before a date was set for the start of the six-month interim period and a freeze on their nuclear program.
Saturday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of Iran’s national security and foreign policy parliamentary commission, left no doubt that the Geneva track was in crisis.
He explained: “…the nation of Iran and MPs will not retreat on national benefits, the rights of Iran in the nuclear field, and the blood of the martyrs. It expects the nuclear negotiations to strictly defend the interests of the country.”

Here is the story behind the photo.

The Perfected Praise Singers, a popular gospel band in Lagos, were worshiping God in the said church and some kids were taking photos of them.

When one of the kids, got home and was going through the pictures, he discovered that an angel (or what looked like it) was there with them in the church.

Pastor Adeboye tells members to ignore woman who said he will go to Hell

The Senior Pastor and founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on his followers to ignored the woman who said he (Adeboye) would go to hell.

The cleric gave this warning yesterday at the just concluded 16th Holy Ghost Congress which held at the Redemption Camp on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, tagged: The Overflow.

Addressing the congregation, Daddy G.O, as he’s fondly called also warned his members against making donation to some people who have created Facebook accounts in his name.

According to him, “Some people have been impersonating me on Facebook and other social media, asking people to donate monies for unidentified orphanages or some sick persons who require urgent medical treatment abroad. Please do not believe them and do not give them money,” Adeboye said.

Google buys Boston Dynamics

Google announced that they’ve acquired Boston Dynamics, creators of quad- and bi-pedal robots like Big Dog and PETMAN. This is Google’s eighth robotics acquisition.

The company did not disclose the details of the sale.

The announcement appeared in the New York Times where Boston Dynamics CEO Marc Raibert said they would honor their DARPA military contracts although Google will not officially be a military contractor.

The company, founded in 1992, has been working on standalone, gas powered robots for the past decade. The robots are self-righting and very resilient. Robots like Big Dog can throw cinder blocks, handle rocky terrain, and run at 16 mph.

He doesn't bleach? That hand could have fooled me. In an interview with Saturday Punch, former governor of Oyo State Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, denied bleaching his skin and said anyone who says he's bleaching is very stupid.

During the interview, a Punch reporter asked him, 'Is it part of your own fashion to bleach?' OMG! Can't believe he asked that question straight up...lol. Big ups to the reporter.

To boost intra-city mass transit as well as provide employment for youths, the Niger State Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P) has purchased 100 Kia Rio cars at the cost of N330 million for onward distribution to university graduates according to the transformation agenda of Mr. President.

Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, who made the announcement during the inauguration of the cars yesterday in Minna, the state capital, stated that the cars are to be distributed to the graduates at a subsidised rate as part of government’s effort to reduce unemployment in the state.

According to the governor, the cars, which have a unit cost of N3.3 million, would be given to the graduates at the rate of N2.3 million to be repaid in monthly installments of N60,000 spread over a 36-month period.

Desmond Tutu not Invited to Mandela's Burial?

“The archbishop is not an accredited clergyperson for the event and will thus not be attending,” the Nobel Laureate’s daughter Mpho Tutu told AFP.
Tutu’s aide Roger Friedman refused to comment on media suggestions that Tutu was excluded because of criticism of the ruling ANC, saying only that “he is presently not planning to attend.”
Tutu, who retired in 2010 and is seen as South Africa’s moral beacon, is openly critical of President Jacob Zuma’s graft-tainted administration.
He was also left out of the official programme of the Mandela main memorial service held in Soweto on Tuesday and attended by nearly 100 world leaders

Shooting in Colorado high school

A student at a Colorado school shot and wounded two students, one seriously, before dying of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.

The gunman brought a shotgun to the school and was looking for a specific teacher when confronted by a classmate, the Arapahoe County sheriff said.

The teacher left the school after learning he was a target.

The attack took place a day before the anniversary of a US primary school shooting which left 20 children dead.

Six adults were also murdered when Adam Lanza attacked Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown Connecticut. Small ceremonies are due to take place in the town on Saturday.read more...
